The Brighton Kids Early Learning Centre
The Brighton Kids Early Learning Centre underwent a significant refurbishment project that revitalized both its interior and exterior spaces. The project included extensive painting, flooring replacement, and the installation of a new wall and door. The outdoor play areas were also enhanced with new sand, mulch, and timber treatment. The overall result is a safer, more functional, and more aesthetically pleasing environment for the children.
Refreshed Interiors & Exteriors
The project revitalised the interior spaces by removing the old flooring and installing new sheet vinyl in the learning rooms and bathrooms. The ceilings, walls, skirting, doors, windows, and the external facade were extensively painted, and the skirting in the bathrooms and staff room was repaired and replaced. The outdoor spaces were enhanced with sandpit maintenance, including the removal of old sand and the installation of new washed sand. Mulch was installed in the garden beds, and the synthetic turf was maintained. The project also included pressure washing all hard surfaces and sanding and oiling the timberwork in the playgrounds. The centre’s functionality was improved by removing the existing retractable wall and door and installing a new plaster wall and door with a viewing panel and finger guards.
Enhanced Outdoor Spaces
The outdoor play areas received a significant refresh. The sandpits were thoroughly cleaned and replenished with fresh, washed sand, ensuring a safe and hygienic play environment for the children. The garden beds were revitalized with the addition of new mulch, enhancing their aesthetic appeal and promoting plant health. The synthetic turf underwent maintenance to ensure its continued safety and usability, providing a durable and low-maintenance play surface. All hard surfaces in the outdoor areas were pressure washed, removing dirt and grime buildup and creating a clean and inviting space. The timberwork in the playgrounds was also sanded and oiled, protecting it from the elements and extending its lifespan.
Improved Functionality
The centre’s functionality was enhanced by replacing an existing retractable wall and door with a new plaster wall and door. This modification likely improved the acoustics and privacy within the centre, creating a more conducive learning environment. The new door was fitted with a viewing panel and finger guards, prioritizing the safety of the children while still allowing for supervision and interaction between different areas of the centre.
